I’m super excited for our 1st Mardi Gras! We have been to New Orleans several times we love the history, ghost tours and the culture of the city and the music! Justin is a Trumpeter and loves hoping in to play with local brass band artist. I have done me research and I’m ready! We don’t plan to get all crazy with costumes and all that as it’s our 1st Mardi Gras. I will be taking comfy clothing and easy shoes keeping it simple! There weather in New Orleans can change drastically from one day to the next from day to evening! Always pack layers! Less is more when road-tripping for sure! So check out my packing plans!

{FRIDAY} ROAD TRIP I love to stay comfy on the road trips I stick to leggings, loose fitting tops and a jacket for potty breaks especially if we are taking our little girl Paisley, she’s the sweetest 9yr old Beagle Terrier you will ever meet!

JACKET
LARGE PURSE/BAG
COMFY SHOES
LOOSE FITTING TOP
{FRIDAY NIGHT} FRENCH QUARTER + NIGHT PARADES I’m excited to get into the Quarter and have a blast walking and people watching! I can’t wait to see the evening parades and the Muses of the different Krewes. Being that we have been to New Orleans before but not for Mardi Gras I know that there will be lots of walking and I plan to be cute and comfy! I’m taking my camo jacket because its light enough to tie around my waist and not be bulky or get in the way! I have this super cute cross body that I like to use for nights like this. It literally holds lipstick, id, debit card and a small mirror!

TINY CROSSBODY PURSE
COMBAT BOOTS
{SATURDAY} DAY PARADES Saturday is parade day we will be up early to get out and find a good spot to catch some throws. I know that people will be crazy with costumes but I plan to wear my cute little lace mask with red charms and my rhinestone cat ear head band! I scored a black tank style bodysuit for just $10 at my local dd’s discounts! For footwear, I finally grabbed myself some moccasin style fringe boots in tan! This will be a long day so I will have my small/medium black leather book bag with gold studs. I have done some research and I know my bag will not to have a compartment for id and money that cannot be easily accessed and that I need to be able to fit toilet paper, hand sanitizer and wet ones… You’re welcome and I’m sure you can put 2&2 together.
BLACK BODYSUIT
FRINGE MOCCASAN BOOTS
BLACK LACE MASK & RHINESTONE KITTY EARS
BLACK LEATHER BACK PACK

{SATURDAY} NIGHT FUN
I can only speak for myself when I say: I may need a nap or break to recharge and a shower! The second half of our Saturday we will totally play by ear and see how the day goes.
Jean or leggings and a top I’m keeping it super simple as this may be the time we hang out at the hotel pop on our play list and hang out at the hotel or we may go back into town for oysters and beers
This is the ultimate free space!
{SUNDAY} ROAD TRIP AND LAST DAY
I love a good brunch and some light shopping before we leave New Orleans! I’m looking for a different spot to try from brunch! We fell in love with Ruby Slipper Café the last time we visited! The restaurant is in an old bank, the food is good but I would give it $$ for pricing and the menu seem weird for no reason but whatever has a grit cake and shrimp is what you want to order. Since we are driving and our motel has a café right next to it we will probably check them out as most of the reviews say they have good breakfast and cheap prices!
THE ESSENTIALS
My rain boots are bulky but I will take those just in case. Extra tees for layering and leggings for options.
