Total Eclipse in the Vineyard!

This year we got to experience a TOTAL ECLIPSE! “Although the celestial phenomenon on Feb. 26, 1979 was only visible from the Pacific Northwest, it was the last total solar eclipse over the contiguous United States to take place that century -- and just like this year, the rare event captured the imagination of the nation”We decided to enjoy this one in a few centry event in the vineyards! We drove up to one of our favorite wineries Cavender Creek in Dahlonega, Ga

I packed up the picnic basket and a blanket! My lunch menu was a little much but how in the world do our celebrate an Eclipse!?
Total Eclipse Menu:
-Chicken Salad on focaccia bread with lettuce, tomato and remoulade sauce.
-Kale & Romaine lettuce salad mix with vidalia onion dressing on the bottom, red onion, kalamata olives, banana peppers, tomato, turkey bacon bits and seasoned salad toppings
-cherry tomatoes with fresh mozzarella balls
-Mediterranean style feta cheese and olives
-Cream cheese and guava jelly spread
-lemon pound cake
-sesame mixed nuts
-pimento cheddar cheese spread
-pita chips and crustini bread chips
We didst have to pay and admission to enter the winery and we could enjoy the eclips from anywhere on the grounds. I found a shady tree and shared it with 2 awesome ladies who had a welding cap that allowed us to look at the eclipse which was super cool. The weather was perfect no too hot but when the full eclipse came it was cool and had an eerie but wonder full shade. We meditated on what we wanted to manifest for the rest of the year and sang Total Eclipse of the heart by Rory Dodd and danced under the shady moonlight and!

That day Cavender Creek was serving a wine slushie in cute tiny mason jars that I renamed PommerBerryJito! That's a Pomegranate Berry Mojito! Ummm delicious!
